2023 Karen McAndrew COCAcon Scholarship Fund
(Formerly known as the COCAcon Travel Stipend)
APPLICATIONS CLOSED September 15th 5 pm ET
COCA is excited to partner with Care Camps to offer COCA member camps financial support to attend the 2023 Annual COCA Conference (COCAcon). Care Camps is pleased to announce the Karen McAndrew COCAcon Scholarship Fund and continue our financial support for COCA member camps to attend the 2023 COCA Conference. Karen served as the former Executive Director for Care Camps for over 10 years, and this fund is to honor her steadfast leadership and commitment to supporting COCA member camps across the U.S. and Canada. The Scholarship Fund (formerly known as ‘COCAcon Travel Stipend’) will be distributed annually to eligible COCA Camps who demonstrate financial need and have never attended an in person COCA conference. Care Camps is committed to encourage COCA camps to attend COCAcon so they can network and enhance their professional development, education and learning in regards to running camps and programs for individuals and families affected by childhood cancer.
The Karen McAndrew COCAcon Scholarship Fund is designed to specifically cover travel (airfare, mileage, hotel) expenses up to $750 (USD) related to COCAcon only. As part of this program, COCAcon attendance fees have been reduced to $150. The total value of a stipend is $1,000.
All camps are eligible, however preference will be given to those camps that demonstrate financial need and have never attended an in person COCA conference. (You are eligible if you have only attended COCA's virtual conferences).
