Entry Background/Description:
In honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month this September we ran a social media campaign on our Facebook and Instagram pages. Our goal was to spread awareness about childhood cancer, as well as the overwhelmingly positive impacts that oncology camps have on children who attend. We did research to find studies that provided concrete evidence of these impacts which we can see firsthand and translated them into digestible social media posts that provided key information, while also offering information and resources for motivated individuals to continue learning more.
Each Monday we shared this information on all platforms and were thrilled to see the engagement and shares. We posted information in four segments, Childhood Cancer Facts, Oncology Camp Impacts, Camp Goodtimes Stories, and Why Goodtimes?. This was our first time running a campaign specific to Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and the support and engagement we received surpassed our expectations. We gained several new followers, received 90+ shares, and overall were met with a very positive response from our community. This social media campaign not only proved to be successful, but stood out amongst all the other posts being shared during the month of September.
