Entry Background/Description:
This weekend long Winter program is geared specifically toward our youngest campers, ages 7-10 years. Campers arrive Friday evening and stay through Sunday afternoon. Campers enjoyed traditional winter activities such as sledding, ice skating in our pavilion with a science themed playlist. Science was weaved throughout the weekend. Campers donned goggles and lab coats and were fully engaged while they were experimented with making elephant toothpaste, colorful stationery with food coloring and shaving cream, sparkly slime, and ice cream in a bag. We also took part in an amazing and surprising taste test that involved sweet and sour and how those tastes change and evolve with differing combinations and then again with Miracle Berries (aka, ledidi berry) Campers were amazed at how fresh lemons tasted like sweet lemonade when biting into them after having eaten a Miracle Berry. The adults were too!
Why You Should Vote for Me:
Campers who can sometimes have difficulty staying engaged for longer time periods were SO into the science aspect and were SO excited to try each activity. The program was a great balance of traditional activities that are favorites and themed activities all at a reasonable cost. PLUS...it was SUPER fun! Take a look at the photos to see the fun!
